In recent years, the beer industry has seen an increased focus on the use of specialty malts. These special malts are crafted from a variety of grains, such as wheat, rye or even oats. Brewers enjoy using them to customize the flavor profile of their beers and make each product stand out from the rest.

The popularity of specialty malts began increasing when craft breweries started to gain traction in terms of market share and customers. These small-scale operations had more freedom to experiment with different types of ingredients and recipes which allowed brewers to be more creative than ever before. As a result, we now see a wide variety of beers featuring complex flavors that wouldn't have been possible without the addition of these unique malt varieties.

At the same time, large-scale beer producers are also beginning to capitalize on this trend as they look for ways to keep up with changing consumer preferences. As craft breweries become more successful and start producing higher-quality products, big companies can no longer rely solely on traditional means such as advertising and discounted prices to compete. As such, many are now investing in research into the potential benefits that specialty malts offer which could help them create better beers while still being cost effective.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that the face of ethanol production has changed forever thanks to advances in technology and experimentation with new ingredients such as specialty malts. For example, some producers have begun exploring wild yeast strains which can create entirely new flavor profiles unheard off before in mass-produced beers.

It remains unclear how much further beer production will evolve due to advances like these but it is certain that its future looks brighter than ever before.
